Camp Coordinator / Lifeguard
Silverado Resort and Spa is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Camp Coordinator / Lifeguard. This camp has it all! Fun, fitness, and knowledge. GOLF - the fundamentals in all three areas of the short game, full swing, and putting. TENNIS - all three disciplines will be stressed as we work on the fundamentals of groundstroke, volleys, serves, returns, court positioning, and strategies. SWIM - supervised swimming in our resort main pool! The Lifeguard role has the responsibility to assist guests and members with service needs in the pool while maintaining a safe and secure area. Essential Job Functions include but are not limited to:
Ensure the safety of patrons of the pool area by preventing and responding to emergencies.
Maintain constant surveillance of all patrons in the pool.
Coordinate emergency procedures and provide first aid in emergency situations as trained and authorized.
Project and maintain positive, professional relations/interactions with guests.
Perform general maintenance and care of facilities, equipment, and surround pool area as requested. Straightening up chairs and tables, cleaning surface areas as necessary, and eliminating potential slip and fall hazards.
Attend regularly scheduled staff meetings, training programs and in-service training as required.
Perform any other duties or functions that contribute to the overall daily operations of the facility.
Knowledge of First Aid and CPR practices. Ability and willingness to achieve Certification in First Aid, CPR and Lifeguard Training.
Knowledge of terminology/techniques to operate general lifeguard and rescue equipment. Ability to observe and analyze safety situations and determine appropriate course of action.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and public.
Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Interpret, apply and explain applicable rules and regulations, prepare and maintain clear, concise and accurate documentation.
Utilize sound independent judgment within established guidelines.
Understand and follow oral and written instructions, remain calm, make sound decisions and respond appropriately in emergency situations.
Maintain personal physical endurance and agility.
Previous lifeguard experience preferred but not required
Must be able to work variable shift, weekends, holidays, and special events, as needed.
Must have employment eligibility in the U.S.
