The role of the Director of Finance Systems & Integrations will be responsible for supporting system workflow and functional administration support for Hyperion Planning and Oracle Financials systems (GL, FA, AR, AP). This individual will work with Subject Matter Experts (SME) to document functional processes on the key Hotel Group Finance systems and participate with peers in the delivery of technology solutions in support of finance.The role will also demand continuous efforts to evaluate system processes across the organization for improvement. This requires engaging with business users to stay informed of possible changes in accounting and reporting requirements and/or changes in the structure of the business.
He/she will provide system guidance and month end reporting support to the Accounting and Financial Planning department in daily finance operations, company consolidations, and external audits. This position will be lead to all implementations of finance systems and/or system integrations directing the planning and design, as well as oversight on internal audit controls, data governance and project management.
Another key function of this role is to act as the business interface between the IT and accounting and reporting departments to help ensure that IT development and maintenance priorities align with financial strategies and initiatives. This responsibility will include but not limited to, the Oracle and Hyperion Planning/Essbase environment and applications.
This position will take direction from the VP of Financial Systems and Reporting to work on projects that achieve identified department goals which in turn align to the WHG corporate goals and strategic plans.
Direct system process flow for Hyperion and Oracle EBS applications, providing daily system oversight, supporting system administration, and issue triage/remediation, interfacing with IT as needed.
Lead planning, development, and execution of Hyperion and Oracle EBS Finance system solutions to meet both current and future business needs.
Collaborate with Finance management and I.T. to support and provide functional guidance on the Finance system strategic roadmap & capital initiatives
Ensure data and chart of accounts integrity across all WHG finance applications (Oracle E-Business, HFM, Hyperion).
Assume key reporting and integration systems role in all future acquisitions; provide strategic consultation and guidance on all decisions that have significant business and reporting system implications.
Oversee all audit and security controls around the Hyperion planning systems to maintain change management and SOX compliance
This role will communicate frequently with Finance clients (users) in a support and training role as well as managing members of the Wyndham Hotel Group Accounting and Financial Planning organization. Also deal frequently with Corporate IT partners to diagnose and resolve any system issues on an on-going basis with higher frequency during planning and budget cycles.
Decision Making Authority – Authority exercised in the role will be broad but driven by the priority of meeting Finance department needs. Authority will be constrained by departmental and capital budgets, scope of the systems supported and services offered. All authority will have at least one level of Finance Departmental oversight.
This individual will drive implementation of Oracle and Hyperion solutions roadmap and support a broad user group that has strong dependency on Oracle and Hyperion tools. The team member will have the opportunity to play a key role in a fast-paced, often demanding environment with frequent exposure to the Accounting & Finance Planning VP. The organization is looking for an individual who can drive innovation in system and analysis solutions to support a global finance strategy.
Demonstrated ability to anticipate potential problems/act in a proactive manner
Basic knowledge of finance operations and enabling technologies
Ability to implement/manage process flows and audit controls to control system risk
Strong background in Oracle/Hyperion reporting management and development
Excellent analytical and solution-architecting abilities
Reactsto project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently
Ability to manage projects and finance system initiatives in all aspects from requirement gathering, project timelines, UAT, and resource allocation
Strong experience with reporting applications use by Wyndham Finance such as Oracle R12 , Hyperion Planning, Essbase, HFM, and OBIEE/Noetix
Participates with peers in the delivery of technology solutions in support of finance
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Information Systems and 8 years of hand-on experience and 4 years leadership experience on Oracle Enterprise Performance Management products
Demonstrated knowledge and hands-on experience with Oracle Hyperion products including Essbase (ASO & BSO), EPMA, Hyperion Financial Management (HFM), Financial Data Quality management (FDMEE) and Shared Services.
Strong knowledge of Oracle E-Business Suite (R12) and related finance modules
Finance Systems support experience in Oracle and Hyperion roles is strongly preferred. The individual should have experience developing and/or supporting Finance system related implementations & integrations
SQL programming skills must at least be at the working knowledge level, expert level preferred.
High proficiency with Microsoft Office ,VBA programming and PL/SQL Programming
Solid knowledge and experience in Oracle financial business processes, systems and operating models
Professional IT-related project experience a plus
Or any equivalent combination of education, experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
