Wyndham Hotel Group is searching for a Full-Time Banquet Steward to work at our beautiful Dolce Q Center in St. Charles, IL. The Banquet Steward is responsible for set up and tear down of Banquet facilities & service of Banquet functions/staff.
This position is eligible for a sign-on bonus of $300 after completing 60 days of employment with satisfactory performance\
Essential Job Functionsinclude but are not limited to:
Reads and understands the staff packet, BEO’s and work order provided for each event.
Pull and deliver all required linen, skirting, tables, chairs and other heavy equipment required to set up catering event, such as: chaffers, flatware, glassware, pots, pans and props.
Set up all tables and chairs before event begins, and then tear down of all tables and chairs at the end of the night.
Set-up all bussing / breakdown areas / tray jacks & trays.
Break down bussing trays of service items, sort into proper dish racks / glass racks.
Clean and sanitize all china, glassware, silverware, flatware, dishes, and trays. Send these items through dish machine, following proper sanitation guidelines. Also ensuring complete clean-up of dish area at the end of the night.
Taking all clean dish racks and glass racks to proper storage areas.
Order and receive linen order from laundry and rental companies. Make sure all rental dirty linen is returned to the rental company on the due date.
Maintain cleanliness of all banquet areas, including taking out garbage, sweeping and mopping floors, straightening storage areas before shift ends and afterwards.
Transport equipment from site to site. Ensure there are sufficient Queen Mary’s and racks in which to place dirty dishes, silver, pots, glassware and pans.
Deliver food to the site of the event.
Interacts with co-workers in a professional and friendly manner.
Handles and stores all banquet equipment properly and with care.
Adheres to the banquet department rules and policies at all times.
Perform other activities as necessary.
Acts as a team player, providing expertise within the team and with other team members, as appropriate.
Responsible for glassware, flatware and linen inventory.
Flexible availability to work any day of week, daytime or evening. Must be available weekends.
Must possess basic computational ability.
Basic mathematical skills necessary to calculate amount of equipment and linen for events.
Good working knowledge of the fundamentals of cold & hot food preparation.
Good working knowledge of the accepted standards of sanitation.
Must be able to walk/stand majority of shift.
Must be able to lift and carry trays up to 30lbs on a regular basis.
Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs.
Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks.
Requires grasping, writing, standing, walking, sitting, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual activity.
